Oh. What's that overflow called? I'd like to look it up. And for chambers I would put an egg crate wall for the overflow, then a smaller Rubbermaid container for a DSB and chaeto in the middle, I'd have live rock outside of that and then another egg crate wall for the return.

He made it himself, iv been trying to get more info from him. His pictures are very blurry and don't show a lot of detail.

I really don't like the look of having a Rubbermaid down there. I am going to use the 5.5 gallon, sorry man but thanks for the help. :)

No problem!:) Lol it's probably what I'll do. More expensive, but it looks better and probably functions better.

Should I add sand with the mud? And how high should the water be from the top in the sump?

Now that I think about it more, if I were to get a 29 gallon biocube I would do exact same thing, but also run a 20 gallon sump. That miracle mud is a great product and definitely produces results. Im curious to see how it helps your system if you decide to go that route. Along with that mangroves would destroy any nitrates. You could probably use that as your entire filtration system along with some live rock.

I'll keep you posted, I'll start the build next month. If you look at my Biocube LED light post you will see I don't have a lot of room down there. I will leave my skimmer and heater in chambers 1 & 2. I also plan on running a 100 gph hang on filter with carbon in it. :)

Sounds like a great plan. Instead of using a HOB filter to run the carbon have you thought of using a reactor? The prices on reactors are really starting to drop and it allows the carbon to be better utilized. Running carbon with a reactor and the Miracle Mud are probably realistically the only things you need to run. Im looking forward to this build! Best of luck!

I was thinking about the Too Little Fishies Reactor, but I am very limited when it comes to space. Google In Tank Media Baskets. You can turn a Aqua Clear filter into some serious filters.

Oh an InTank media basket is a good call. I have modded AC filters before. They can be used for alot of different things which is great. What type of carbon do you plan on running?
