5 and a half days later!!!

So I just got power back at the house. We here in nh and maine got walloped with this stupid ice storm. I knew we were going to lose power just what I did not know was that 2 hrs into it my generator was going to crash!!! I woke up in the am and saw my fish acting weird and nothing wasd running well the ph was at 7.6 to 7.8 I called the local rental center and got an other 6500 watt generator and got it running everything was ok for 2 days then I popped the breaker in the middle of the night. Again my ph dropped. I then got it going again and have been fine but man what a pain in the butt! Power was restored today and i am hoping it doesent go off again I just returned the generator waiting for the local stores to restock so I can buy a new one since mine pooped. What a mess?

Sorry to hear about your bad experince. What happend to generator?

 

I'm hoping everything was ok? Man that had to be stressful for the fishies.

 

It just died and wouldent start I tried a new plug and read the manual after seeing something on the side of the generator that said will not run below 32 degrees. It said wont run under 32? who would sell a generator in New England something that wont run below 32? How do they sleep at night!

As For the fish yes they were stressed I did not lose anything in the salt water tank. Its very unfortunate my son lost his sting ray and 2 eels in his 150 freshwater tank in his room. He saved for them and was so proud and just got them about two weeks ago. I went to the lfs today and they had the sting ray and eels so I put them on hold am testing his water and will replace them for the little guy. He broke out the water works so I had to he is 8 and wanted a stingray forever.

Long story short its amazing what we go through to enjoy this hobby!

That's odd. In Canada if the power is out more than 3-4 hours we're already electing a new mayor... I guess storms are more common place here in terms of snow and ice ><

 

Intersting about gen hope next one you get says rated for under 32 degrees. I will have to check mine now never had to run in winter yet. K+ for the insight into the problem.
