Thanks about the frag it does look nice in this tank. so far I am loving it. I work at home and it is in mu office, so I spend most of my time staring at it...lol as for the bubble algae.. yes there is some. I was honestly leaving to see if the emerald would eat it...so far nope they wont. so I will remove it soon.

yeah I do have to say that I like being able to do cleanings, top off, water changes in minutes...lol

Updated Pics 5 Gallon Nano (nothing special yet)

just some updated pics and concerns. I know this tank is only a month old. I did have a major diatom bloom, then went away. now I have what looks like diatoms again and a lot bubbles on my rocks. not really sure what it is. a couple things to note. I was forced to add the clownfish due to him being beaten up by a damsel. he will be going back to my DT within a day or two. That being said my nitrate is also up to 20ppm because of the clownfish and also the fact that I was using tap water. I got my RO unit a few days ago and just did a water change with fresh RO water. I also added a HOB skimmer to increase flow and also help with water quality. any other thoughts about this tank? what I can do or change to make it better? as for whats in the tank. I have the 1 clownfish, 2 emerald crabs, 4 snails and found one very small hitch hikers brittle star.

    Equipment:
    HOB protien skimmer
    HOB 5-15g filter
    small heater
    24w cpr light fixture

    Updated w/ pics

Added a bunch of LR, and looks like I set the tank off on a cycle...no I dont have measurements on the levels yet, but I do know the diatoms came back hard again. let me know what ya think. I removed the Clown that was in there and put him back into my main DT now that he has healed up nicely. Does the tank look normal to everyone as far as the algae is concerned?

Oh the bottom sand looks the way it does because of my pistol shrimp, he loves to move everything around.

I personally prefer a bit less rock to create more swimming room for the fish but still enough to provide the biofilter... but glad you decided against the seahorses... they are VERY delicate and require perfect water parameters. So, what are the measurements right now?
Only then can we make a recommendation about the algea...

I don't remember how much you have but the rule of thumb is a pound to a pound and a half per gallon. How much do you have in there?

Just wanted to add some updates and pictures for my 5 gallon nano. I changed some of the aqua-scaping and removed some of the rock. Other than that no big changes. I have a kenya tree and one mushroom coral. there is also a very tiny xenia, so small I can barely find it, it came from a larger piece I had in here for a short time. Last live critter is my pistol shrimp.

Looking great. I love the aquascape you have. It will look great when it gets covered in zoas.
