Hey guys I was wondering if the light fixture I was going to get was going to be overkill for my aquarium. It's gonna house all sorts of corals ranging from softies to sps. The fixture I was going to get was off of rapidled. My tank is a 5 gallon.
    Tank dimensions: 17"x10"x6".

    I was going to get:
    3 Cree cool whites
    3 Cree neutral whites
    2 royal blue
    2 UV

Would this be enough and if it is too strong I can always dim the right?
Thanks for reading this and the advice.

I would think that may be a bit much for a 5g unless you hang it a decent height above the tank. I had 10 LEDs over my 12g nanocube and it was pretty bright. I'd recommend 6 LEDs.

If you want to go with 8 and just dim them, you will need to make sure to get the proper drivers and the dimming kit.
