    plexi stock? What thickness? I tried replacing the glass with 6mm plexi, but at 35" its starting to sag. Would doubling up the plexi around the outside edge in strips give it enough support?

    Lexan acrylic plexi glass is amazingly strong and does not bow with heat and humidity.

    you could even use 1/4" plexi to make a support. 1/4" is very strong and would easily support the center of the glass.

    I ended up going to the Home Depot and found a "L" shaped rigid aluminum 8 foot bar that I cut with my dremel. Then I filed it down to fit perfectly and I think it's going to do the job nicely. Now I just need to find some paint or liqiud rubber or something to seal that bar up so that the saltwater doesn't affect it. I better start searching these forums.
