I am just about to order my new RO/DI Unit but I have a small question. I have a 50 gall drum in my garage set up so I can have water for water changes or mistakes or whatever! My question is I am also wanted to order a submursable pump to put in there to keep it stirred. What size pump do I need just to keep it stirring well. How many gph?:-/:confused:

    since it's a circle, it won't need much. I'd say ~500 gph, like a Koralia 2 or 3.

Just off the top of my head, if I had a choice of three three power heads I have lying around, I would use my extra Rio 2100. I think it does about 600 hundred gallons per hour. That's what I have running my return in my 75g.

Well I am thinking I want a pump and not a power head that way when I do water chages I can just hook up tubing and pump it out. Still the same amount? Or more since I will be pumping it up and over about 50 feet?

Nice setup wildreef, I see your RO/DI supply tube, but where's your float valve?

that's actually my barrel i use for my supply ( reserve & water changes )
I would make sure you use a plastic barrel if you plan on doing this and when you do get one ( from where ever ) let it set out side and wash it out .

Plastics will leach out the chemicals that came in it ( over time ) i let mine set out side for over 3 months.

I let mine set out for 1 month, washed it before letting it set with a brand new brush and the fruit punch is disapating(sp?) finally. It had fruit punch syrup in it! I am tired of filling up water jugs to fill my tank and do water changes!
