Maybe I'll just get the wartskin and nothing else for now and see how well it handles my tank. My tank is approx 4 months old and by the time I am able to go pick up my fish will be around 5 I am waiting for the last of my nitrates to drop its currently at 10 ppm my ammonia is at 0 same with nitrites. My red algae cycle is clearing up finally and green is starting. I will be waiting for the green to fade out an my nitrates to go to 0 before I purchase my first fish.

The tank has been empty for 4 months? I'd add some food to the tank and test for ammo/nitrite to make sure you still have a bacteria population.

Your nitrates won't drop like ammonia and nitrites did. They require you to do WC's or use a chemical filtration, macro algae like chaeto, or a reactor of some sort.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Make sure the Wart Skin is eating and have them prove to you it is.

Consider that in the future when you add fish he may try to eat them, they might not fit in his mouth or down his throat but he will try.

I suggest if you go for the Angler make the tank a species tank with macro algae. Also remember this is a fish that sits, it may look beautiful but it's not a swimmer. If you decide to add more sensitive stony corals down the road, he may very well decide they are fine to sit on, this is why a species tank with macros is an ideal tank for this fish.

I water change every Saturday. Lol I did read a lot about how to do this stuff and I have a buddy who had a 200 and a 10 gallon who has been helping me out. He has never had a wartskin not a bsjf which is why I asked in here about them.

Reefing friends are a great resource. Ask, ask and ask again. That is why we are here.

    I have had both fish.

Two of my favorites, but they are specialized fish and you might be buying more frustration than satisfaction.

It's hard with so many fish choices out there but they all come different geographical areas and are not so easily mixed or cared for as most LFS would have you think.

    Hope this help some what.

It does you talked me out of the bsjf because I was on the fence about getting one because I love the beauty of them but my tank is not set up for one and I dont want to put a lid on my tank. As for the wartskin I will think about it some more because I do really like the way they look. But they do need more care then other fish I am defiantly willing to go the extra mile for an awesome fish like that
