I would think you could use the 120 as a sump and the 40 for a fuge.. just make sure you have the height in you DT so it drains right. You can put the 40 over the sump like I did and use a wye with a manifold into its return to adjust the flow for your fuge. +1 on the calcium reactor.

If you are running a calcium reactor and a kalk reactor off your ato. You will most likely never have to dose. My parameters are almost dead on and I don't dose. The only thing I have been dosing and messing with is across power and nualgi which mt polyp extension has been amazing since I started. Not sure of its the nualgi or just tank is dialed in.

And if you are going with bio pellets look at the reactor I am running. I am in the process of switching to the all on one pellets and doing away with my gfo reactor.

The reef dynamics one. I love the control you get with it. Both on the tumble and the flow.

Sounds awesome! I am in the planning stages of a large tank and separate sump room. Look at Toddsales build. I took several great ideas from him, particularly with his sump setup. His is very simple and very functional. My current plan is for a coast to coast overflow with a bean animal drain to keep the DT very quiet. Something you may want to look into since you are building from scratch. Reefbuilder also has an amazing sump room if I recall his recent thread. You may wish to do a little research on deep sand beds as there seems to be a lot of controversy about them and the potential risk of nuking your tank. I personally have no experience with them. Please keep posting your plans and ideas!!! Im sure you will have a few things that I ll take for my own build!
