The tank is 48x15x17. I was planning on 1 sixline wrasse, 1 christmas wrasse, 2 true percs, 3 yellow clown gobies, 1 longnose hawkfish or 1 flame hawkfish, and a royal gramma, any comments? anything that needs changing? any tips on the listed species? Oh, I read that the christmas wrasse needs a 2-3in deep sand bed to hide in if they are scared, is this true?

That's a pretty good stocking list...just don't add any more fish. Yes, many wrasses will bury themselves in the sand for protection.

would you recommend the longnose or the flame? I think the flames are fun to watch but I think the longnose is more unique.

I like the flame/flasher wrasses. They will flash their colors when angry or trying to impress. :)
