I am having a lot of trouble with cyanobacteria, and I am pretty sure that I have low flow and that is the reason. I currently have a hydor 400gph on the side, a maxi jet 900 in the back, and the return pump is 250gph from the filter. I am just curious and wanted some input as to what anyone else is using in their 54 corner. I have a 55 gallon tank and have never had the problems I am having with this tank.

I used a 2-outlet closed loop in the 50 gal pentagon we used to have.

When I first started I had a 54 corner too. My problem was flow and lighting the whole thing. I had a maxi jet 900, 1200 along with a Mag5. I could not get enough in the back corner to keep debris out, before I finally got rid of the thing I was using both maxi jets and two 1200 gph chinese powerheads and had constant sand storms because the cheap powerheads kept falling.

I had a 54 gallon corner for many years and ran it primarily as a FO. I had spots that were difficult to get flow to no matter what direction I put the powerheads - I had two koralias on the side pointed toward each other and a maxijet in the back about midway down pointed right in that back corner a little off to get the flow in that area. I still had dead spots but I didn't have a lot of issues with cyano.
