    Hello,
I'm thinking my basics should be in the signature so! I guess my questions are, besides a flame angel, is there a yellow and white or black medium fish that would be safe for my tank, ie the butterfly fish or foxface? ie. safety for some various soft corals and feather dusters, inverts etc!

    Thanks!

A great yellow fish that would fit in with your current fish is a Midas Blenny. They are super bright yellow, and have a great personality. They swim a lot more then most Blennies/Gobys and can hold there own ageist even aggressive tank mates. (I say hold their own because your Damsel will more then likely get more and more aggressive as time goes on.)

Butterfly fish would eat or at least pick at your coral. Foxface would get to large for a 55 gallon IMO. Hope that helps some!

    thanks heidi

was planning on a midas blenny or golden blenny! thanks for the reassurance! Pretty sure at least 1 damsel is getting traded in if not both! We'll see how they play in the playground!

You could do a pyramid butterfly. They are reef safe.

I don't recommend any butterflies. They are hard to get eating, stress easily during shipping, and get ich easy. Gorgeous fish but not exactly practical for a noob.

not quite a noob but close enough

i have about 6 years of experience with 2 FOWLR tanks, but that was back in college as a dumb punk that got very lucky! Started this tank to teach my 7 year old son, and i make him go thru every step every day with me! Well ok almost every step!lol

Thanks for the help, i had read and read and read trying to find one that fit, as i just love their looks, but thinking its not gonna happen!

Oh well, flame angel in a few months will make me happy!

Yeah I love flames. They add a lot of color and are pretty easy to keep. Can't go wrong there. They can nip at certain corals though, I believe mainly LPS
