NAh, lol, I THINK most the blennies and gobies are, although I think a few can annoy so corals. Hawkfish eat shrimp

I'm limited in options because I'm looking for a reef safe and a non-pod requiring bottom dweller.

Well, I am a little over 3 weeks away from moving into my new residence and upgrading to the 55 gallon!

I currently have a 20 gallon tank that's been established for 16 months. It has about 30 pounds of rock in it now. Will I need to re-cycle my tank when I add sand and more base rock to the 55 gallon or do you all feel the biological base will be strong enough to support my CUC and a fish or two?

I am in the same situation more or less. Your cycle should be pretty quick, but with the addition of new sand and base rock their will most likely be a mini cycle. Just test for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate over the first few days. Better safe then sorry... make sure you have an ammonia source though for the cycle such as some fish food, shrimp, etc.. Thanks to your healthy live rock though this should be much faster, but most likely not immediate.
