Okay, I'm getting a 55 gallon aquarium on Sunday off craigslist. I need help with the type of filtration , and the livestock and corals. I believe its the typical 55 at 4 ft in length. Can you really overkill on filtration? I'm thinking of 2 FX5s and an Aquaclear 110. Maybe a skimmer instead of the aqua clear. I heard from someone that a yellow tang might work, but would I be able to add anything else? I do want a pair of Onyx Percula Clownfish, and maybe a Midas Blenny but I'm not sure yet. I do want to purchase base rock off ReefCleaners. I heard that Jon will ask for the tank dimensions and hand pick rock that will fit. Is this true? Whatndo you think? :)

get the biggest sump you can put in your stand, eww canister filters, this isn't freshwater. You can buy a Hang on overflow, no drilling needed.

Do you know of a good powerhead for the sump? Do you think a Tunze 9005 would be a good enough skimmer for a 55?

Thanks for the links! A little but pricy; I'll have to save up. While saving up, would it be okay to run just a Aquaclear 110? And what sort of tubes would I need? Thanks for the help. :)

Just get a 10g, pump, cheaper overflow and some tank dividers and make it right for the same price as a aq110.

I have a 10 gal sump for mine and LOVE it. Plus I have an over flow for it as well and love it. I will be making my new sump/ fuge once my protein skimmer arrives.

Could you post pics please? :D I don't know anyting about where to put the dividers, media, powerhead, etc. . I might get a 20 gal (if it'll fit) and make a sump refugium out of it. :)
