so i want to know if these will go together in a 55 gallon. will there be too much aggression, is the tank not big enough? all of these say 50 gal as the tank size and i am very questinable on the lionfish, but thought i would ask to be sure. heres the list:

    snowflake eel

    volitan lionfish

    picasso trigger

if there is any room left i would like to know if a puffer would work in it? i dont have these fish yet but want to know if they would be fine. i know the lionfish should have a bigger tank but just wanted to ask because on Live Aquaria it says 50 gallons. thanks

seems kinda small for a trigger. same goes for puffer. the trigger may do ok, but puffers seem so sad in cramped quarters.

I've seen snowflake eels in tanks that size, and while they don't really get a chance to stretch out and swim, they seem to do ok amongst some rock.

I've seen snowflakes in a 300 gallon seem like the tank is too small for them tho.

I don't mean to sound harsh or critical, these are just my opinions. While the animals may do ok, they may not be living to their full potential, but I guess it's all perspective.

x2 all 3 would have to be very small, and eventually would outgrow that tank in probly 1-2 years. Snowflake eels will poop like crazy and you'll have nitrate problem most likely down the road.. just FYI

a couple of damsel fish? :p

Seriously though, I'm not sure you're going to find many 'agressive tank' fish that will fit that profile.. most will need LOTS of room to swim, and frankly look a lot cooler when they do.

if it were me, I'd try to sick with smaller reef fish, and tie the tank in with your existing reef... keep stuff in it that you may not want to have in the reef tank itself... like urchins, another clown pair, a butterfly, dwarf angel, large bristle star, some of the non-reef wrasse's, crabs, etc.

i guess thats possible. the lady that will sell it to me says its between 12 and 15 inchs from front to back. so... its either a 55 or a 75. which would make a lot of difference in predatory fish. well just wait and find out. then ill get back to ya all. but if you have any ideas, keep them coming. im gonna have a dwarf lion but thats all i can think of right now.

    Then it's probably a 55. My 75 is 18" front to back.
