    You reported a nitrate reading if 0. In my experience sps colored up dramatically with even the tiniest amount of nitrate. I went from 0 to 0.5 and it shocked me on the colors that came out.

    I appreciate the input. That valida looks great. I figured out a year ago that a lack of nutrients were the issue. I added more fish and began feeding more. I found similar results and success as you.

    It was the only one I had before pictures of. The others were always brown until then and I never took any pictures of them. Their transformation in color was even more than this one.

    I was pretty routine with my photos early on, so I am fortunate to have several beginnning photos to compare to.

    Wow, what a difference. What is this coral called? I have someone in my local club selling these for $10 a frag. I love the contrast of color.

    I believe it's a variation of Acropora valida. Very nice coral, quick grower. Grab one.

    Its a purple bonsai

    And for $10 it doesn't really matter what kind it is... Snag it!

    Acropora valida sp (Garf purple bonsai)
    This coral has a strong purple base color with bright green polyps. Picture shown under 20K lighting.
