;) Couldn't happen at a worse time though. But I have a grasp on SPS now, just had to work out the kinks.

    Thanks Mike.

The 20 is going back up. I am on the 3rd floor of a appt complex and don't feel confortbale setting up the 55 gallon.

With the move, I am taking the time to set this tank up right. I decided to drill the tank for 1" bulkheads. I will have two overflows. One will be a primary and one will be an emergency. The emergency is set 1/2" higher in case of a potential flood scenario. The two overflows are in the corner. The return will be in the center.

I build two overflows, but I may not use them. I think I may just use to 90 degree elbows with slots cut in them for surface skimming.

The tank cracked from the bulkhead installation. One set back after another.

Never drill a 20 gallon. The glass is too thin.

eeek! Someday I may build a smaller tank... but with 3/16" glass minimum

Sorry to hear about you setback. I a 20b crack on the bottom a few weeks ago, right near where I drilled it. Definitely a bummer.
Why are you hesitant to set up the 55g on the 3rd floor?
