Great. Squamosa clams are rock dwellers, right?

They are all fully tissued and have great polyp extension. Updated! Yesh. lol

I believe so but the only clam I ever had that bored into live rock was a crocea. Every other clam I've had including squamosa, deresa, and maxima have preferred the sand bed over live rock.

Crocea and Maxima rocks. They both do fine in the sand bed with modern lighting designed for a reef tank. Crocea have done better for me in the rocks and that is my preference. Got to be a secure spot though.

Squamosa, Derasa and Gigas sand bed.

Good stuff. I think I will stick with the deresa for now.

How is that pronounced, btw? der-A-sa? der-ass-a? I don't wont to sound like an idiot when I walk into the fish store tomorrow.

I ordered a cleanup crew from Reef Cleaners today. I was lying in bed last night and it hit me, I don't have a single cleaner in the tank besides the olive snail, and he's as lazy as a hibernating bear. I ordered 50 dwarf ceriths, 20 nassarius and 15 nerites. I won't be getting hermit crabs. All the do is knock into coral and kill snails. I will be getting a couple green emerlds for bubble algae control (always had it, but it never becomes an issue) and a couple peppermint shrimp for aiptasia control.

I've had a few emeralds over the years but the last one I got really took care of my bubble algae - I think sometimes it's a hit or miss depending on the individual crab. I've always heard good things about reef cleaners - that's amazing that you've not had more issues with just the one snail

I plan on doing a bit of wire management in my sump area and in my canopy after I add the second actinic bulb.

I'm using this in the canopy: Screenshot_2015-01-14-07-56-35.png

I'm using this in the sump: Screenshot_2015-01-14-07-50-54.png

    Here is the sump: IMG_20141221_155346_433.jpg

Thanks! Growth isn't all there yet, but it will be shortly. The colors are really coming in now. I added some ZOA's to the lower rocks in an effort to fill that area with color. I'm hoping the mushrooms transition lower too and away from 610 watts of light.

You can see a lot of frags on the far end that are all starting to encrust or branch. They include rainbow, blue and sunset milli, ORA pearlberry acro, A. prostrata, blue tort, bonsai, green slimer and pink lemonade acro.

I'm waiting on the red planet, green birdsnest and 3 pocilipora mini colonies to color back up.

I have a clown, 6 line, lyre tail anthia, yellow watchman and one fish I'm afraid to reveal.
