Thanks. Courtesy of Than @ TidalGardens. It's a good thing I was low on cash, cause I would've bought a lot more.

Thanks. It's only the start...I have dreams of fish that will be in this tank shortly.

Today I set up a simple auto top off. Got a float valve from autotopoff.com. Next to that is 2 five gallon buckets one new salt, the other is waste water. My plan is to do one gallon water changes daily. The ato will help keep my salinity in check.

The auto top off and water change routine seems to be working out just fine. The tank already has done justice. Yesterday I found some flat worms. I will need to eradicate them before the coral go to my display.

Can we talk about flatworms for a minute? I have had them in the past and just like a lot of other pest, they have come and gone. I believe they starve themselves. Is it really necessary to try to kill them if they will die off down the road. What's others thoughts on flatworms?

My lfs has aiptasia in nearly all of their tanks, I refuse to shop there because of it. Even if I had a QT tank, I feel it would still be a PITA if aiptasia took root within the QT.

My confusion with setting up a QT tank is 1) how do you get it cycled? can i just mix a fresh batch of sw and pour in some of that cycle juice(live bacteria) stuff that petstores sell? and 2) when the qt is empty, how do you keep an empty tank full of water up and running so that the water is always solid.

to me its just a little confusing having cycled water inside an empty tank. however you make it look clean and easy. +1 on the thread!
