Filter it. ;) I use a 100 micron felt pad by Coral Life. Here's two pics. The first one is the label. The 2nd one is a stock filter pad for my skilter 250 filter. I use it as a template for the Pureflo pad, which I cut to the same size. It will pull out most of the cloudiness in a few hours.

I used to have a skilter filter, but the skimmer never worked. I had it for about 6 months before the pump on it ended up dying anyways. :-/

I have had mine for over 2 years without any breakdowns (knocks on wood....). I ripped the skimmer portion out the first week (it was insanely loud and it is in my bedroom) so maybe that's why it's lasted so long.

    That's good.

So your not using the skmmer part at all? That's the part I couldn't get to work properly.

The filter part was fine for the first few months. I hadn't messed with it or changed anything. Had the original "O" ring & pump was installed properly. Then it began to leak. We replaced the o ring but it only worked for a while. Had to replace it again then worked for a few more moths. After having it for about 6-8 months the pump randomly stopped working. I called F&S Aquatics who referred me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer said it was past the warranty & I could not get a refund or a replacement. I would not recommend this filter.

i had good luck with mine as well, however i shut the factory air bleed off and added a wood airstone driven by a small air pump and it worked great, totally silent.
