55g refugium flow rate?

    Not to resurrect an old thread. But this had alot of interesting information. I have been considering a 55g refugium on my 125g tank, but is that not necessary. Also, if I were to use a (rounded to 20g) 20g tank for a refugium, how would i get the flow that slow (15-20gph). That seems impossible.

    place a ball valve before the fuge so you can control the flow through it.

    I have no experiance plumbing so i would definitely be unable to do that. Is there any other ways that are easily done.
