55g Salt Water Tanker

    Hello all,

    My name is Luke and I live in Charleston, SC. I currently have a empty 55g tank I have previously used for salt water use. After a job change and the ability to be home more I have seriously considered getting my tank back up and running again.

    I currently have:
    55g tank, not drilled (may get it drilled, worth it?)
    Pro Clear wet/dry bio-ball filter
    Coralife Power Compact (looking into HO T5 lighting)
    Rio800 powered Protein Skimmer
    Stealth 200W sub-heater

    Things I know I need:
    Powerheads for water flow
    Live Rock
    It kinda of goes without saying but salt and water...

    Can anyone think of anything else I may need?

    All help is appreciated!!!

    Random question too, I have a 24" Coralife PC w/LED moonlights, what should I ask for it? Looking to step up into the HO T5s...

    how much are you willing to spend on lighting? reefgeek has a lot of nice t5 fixtures. with a 55 a 4 bulb or a 6 bulb would work.

    I tried to find reefgeek on the forum and couldn't locate him... ??? If you could assist your help would be greatly appreciated. Def. looking to get some T5s and LED moonlights soon.

    Thanks HGC!!! I read through your dual 55g build and you are quite the DIY inspiration. I'm going to build a stand and canopy for my 55g. Looking for that clean finished look...
