My brother and I research everything thoroughly before purchasing any sort of critter. I am big into reptile husbandry and adopt a lot of critters that are subject to the "Mom, Dad this looks cool can I get it?" and then the kid decides he doesn't like it or the critter is subject to insufficient living conditions. Research is the key to any kind of pet before buying. I am learning a lot about clams since this thread though! They are very interesting!

That's awesome, I used to breed designer ball pythons back when an albino was a big deal. I also bread snow boas. No more snakes for me but I do have some cool chameleons. Clams are absolutely amazing and when you do choose to purchase one you will be a "clamaholic" like me and everyone else. I've lost one clam before and it was devastating but once you understand there needs I can't think of nicer looking addition to a reef tank.

Now that is awesome haha, a while back( 2 years?) I was stuck between the decision of a pair of pygmy leaf chams or a pair of crested geckos, went with the geckos and been breeding them since. I was never huge into snakes but those designer ball pythons are neat! I am more of a gecko guy myself. I'm really liking the clam idea and I will be sure to ask questions whenever I need too!!

    well there you go
I wasnt giving advice on how to care for them. Just that if you have a reef you are able to start the process and get what you need. The next step is on him to make sure how what he needs. Ill edit my post so not giving wrong info

Geckos are really neat. I've always liked Tokay geckos but man are they mean. Lol.

Ohhhhhh yeah they are, I have stayed away from Tokays haha! I want to get a pair of Madagascar Giant Day Geckos someday, breed them hopefully. I have a trio of leopard geckos too haha, soon to be breeders.

why do you say "no" to a clam in a 55gallon. I did not know clams needed anything large.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I believe he is implying not to mix Angels and Clams, because Angels can nip Clams.
