    Hello Everyone,

I have a 55g that I want to eventually turn into a reef tank so I would like to stock accordingly. So far the only things I have put in are a couple of turbo snails, and 2 Gold Stripe Maroon Clowns. Fish I am interested in are:

    Coral Beauty Angel
    Six Line Wrasse
    Diamond Watchman Goby
    Lawnmower Blenny
    Royal Gramma

    Any suggestions?

Hope this helps :) I had a eerily similar stocklist when I started my 55, and so speaking from experience on every fish.

I completely agree with Marshall O's comments, I'd also look into fang blennies of the genus Meiacanthus.

+1 to Marshall. I think you're going to need to be cautious in adding anything in with 2 maroons. How long have they been in the tank alone? Also, how big are they?

They were an impulse buy that I did not research before buying, and they are about 1-1.5in long and have been in the tank for a week now. I know I should have done some research on them now lol.

Hopefully they don't establish a territory quickly....

I love the yellow striped maroon clowns! It sounds like they're still pretty tiny and only been in there a week so I'm thinking you're going to be ok - just need to be cautious. You may want to mix up your aquascape a little when adding new additions. I would go with all of Marshall's advice in terms of your other stocking choices. Direct experience especially with the exact same size tank and fish = correct :)

Before I add anymore fish I'm going to buy some more dry reef rock to create more hiding places. All I started with was live sand and one 20lb piece of dry reef rock and just put a couple of flakes of fish food in and let the tank cycle for about a month and voila my bacteria colony was created.

One question about the Maroons, I have 2 maxijet 1200 in circulation mode and my return pump from my sump is pushing 300gph so in total I think I have about 2900gph flowing through my tank, is this too much for the Maroons to handle or any of the other fish that I want to add for that matter? One of the Maroons likes to swim up near my overflow box and the other seems to stay near the bottom sheltered by the live rock and when they swim in front of one of the maxijets it pushes them around.

Be wary of those 6 lines, can be the devil in disguise. If I were you I would focus on getting a good stable healthy cleaner crew before adding any fish or corals. I would wait on the tank to mature and age a few months before adding the blennie
