I think I read somewhere about how urchins & conches can bulldoze coral frags and make a mess sometimes. Never had either but I have a lot of things not completely epoxy'd/glued down so would be a pain for me.

That carpet anemone can potentially eat all fish in your tank if they are stupid enough to get near it, they are pretty aggressive.

I'd go with a Green Bubble Tip or Rose Bubble Tip if you get a nem. Because they wander, they can create havoc in a reef tank so take precautions if you get one. Make sure your tank is 6+ months old and your lighting is up to par. It's usually best to put a nem in first and then corals after the nem has found it's spot. But, I doubt you'd want to wait 6 months to add corals. Also be aware they can get sucked into powerheads/intakes & foul the tank up.

Another thing is to get corals you can easily move (attached to rock, etc.) so you can clear the path if the nem starts to wander.

+1 on ditching the hermits. I tried hermits again after 6 years and they still murder my snails for shell, bulldoze EVERYTHING and one is so big im worried about him getting out and eating one of my cats. As for urchins, mine ate all the coraline in my 46 once a week so I dont have the kinda cover i want to see. Also made it easier for GHA to get a hold (That tank is pretty much completely neglected though)

I would get littler fish, those filefish are going to end up dinner for a trigger.

    Thanks, everyone for the input.

I have read about urchins almost completely bulldozing aquascape and plowing LR of it's coralline algae. Where as in other cases people have had no problems. There's also an in-between. Some people had problems until deciding to epoxy LR together. I guess this one is sort of a 50/50, hit-or-miss.. I'll probably go with an urchin OR a conch, but not both.

I think I'll go with a bubble tip nem rather than my originally suggested carpet.

As far as the hermits goes, haven't you heard you HAVE TO have LOTS of extra shells for them? When they grow out of their old shell, or are getting ready to, hermits will fight to the death(if not provided with enough shells), to find out that maybe the shell he just killed a snail for is too small and has to go hunt for another..

Wrasse is a good idea. As for hermit they murder anything they can. They murdered my limpets, dwarf cerths, shrimp, one got the family dog. They are terri-bad lol. Oh get a mystery wrasse, they are my favorite
