I am wanting to put my 55 on a 90g stand. I have a 20g long that I am making into a sump/fuge and it just won't fit under the 55's stand.

My plan is to put some 2x4's in the corners of the stand and put a peice of plywood (painted black) over the top of the 90g stand. Will this hold the 55g? What else could I do to sure up the 90's stand?

I would also run a 2x4 from corner to corner under the plywood for extra support and you should be fine

    Good idea Yahama.

I just got back from Home Depot. I purchased, a sheet of stain grade plywood, some trim and some 2x4's. I will be putting the tank all the way back on the
90g stand so I have room on the front to sit materials when I am working on the tank. I will be a putting 2x4 in each back corner and two more on either side at 12" to meet the edge of the 55g. I am also going to put a 2x4 on the center brace to get everything level for the plywood I will be putting on top. I will finish the stand off with some trim on the front and sides to hide the 1/2" top and paint it all black. Should look nice when I am done. Will hopefully complete it tomorow. Will post pics of the build in the DIY section.
