Look forward to seeing your tank set up. I have a 55g reef, no sump/fuge but run a Deltec HOB skimmer and it keeps everything nice. Stacking rock in the width can be a challenge, but it's def do-able. I laid eggcrate on the glass bottom and stacked in the middle as securely as I could. It's about 1yr+ old and I've packed it to the hilt, will be upgrading to a 75g or 90g within the next few months (sorry I keep posting pics of my tank, it's like my baby :)):

    New 55 ga project

Ok Fellers! I have aquaired the tank needs some work but that is part of the fun..... I would love to hear your suggestions in reference to a good match for a corner vs center over flow system for this 55ga tank. Part of the sale included two Millinum 3000 OF but they are a parts item as far as im concerned.

Unfortunately it is tempered glass through and through and cannot be drilled :( bummer however im looking to make this one of the best 55ga system it could be.....LOl

Looking forward to your expert feedback and ideas forum.....

    Hard Water Stain

Forum I just wanted to share that I have been trying to remove what appeared to be Hard Water / Calcium stains from the inside glass panel for several days and finally found success with automobile rubbing compound.

I tried the razor blade approach with no luck Vinegar it to did not work I even attempted to add baking soda to the vinegar and elbow grease and nothing.

Next I tried Muriatic Acid and even that did not work. Lastly tried the old Turtle wax Rubbing Compound / heavy duty cleaner and Walla!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sounds like you are moving right along.

Interesting about the turtle wax, just make sure to rinse and rinse and......I have no idea how safe that stuff is, but it seems like if you make sure no residue is left you should be ok.
