I still say you go with Maxi mini's instead of rics...they're just way cooler, plus 4-5 sexy shrimp

OK, didn't realize you used a bacterial supplement to help it along. I have not ever used these and was speaking for only the "natural" or "usual" way of cycling a new(ish?) tank. I don't doubt

lol, no worries sean, and I'm still a skeptic as far as it goes for replacing a a"natural" cycle, but in a small tank, WCs are pretty easy and with the added value of plenty of LR I'm not really anticipating much to go wrong, but ya never know, I'll still keep a close eye out for new tank syndrome;)

    ordered that heater;)

You can tell I was tired I wrote that last post. ^ I didn't bother to finish my sentence before posting it. lol...

You will always have a cycle in the beginning. With bacterial supplements such as Dr. Tim's One & Only, or Brightwell Aquatics Microbacter 7 you can certainly speed up the process which would have otherwise taken a bit longer. I've no experience with the use of these products, but I do feel that some of them would indeed help your cause and I would even consider using them on my own tanks in the future.

alright, trying to find a decent deal on maxi mini's, but I'm not paying $30 each for them! Any one know where I can find them cheap?
