5gal ecopico reef tank - need skimmer?

    Beside doing weekly water changes, would it be beneficial to add a protein skimmer to this tank? Not a lot internal room, is there an external HOB available? Here is pic of the tank.

    Nah, a skimmer won't help much in such a small tank. It will be over-powered for the size/ water volume.

    Just keep up on your water changes...maybe toss in some chaetomorpha for additional (to live rock) biological filtration.
