    i have 4x 54w t5s over my 55 gallon and have no trouble with any corals. i want a clam sometime soon also. ati blue plus are great bulbs.

    Go with 8. You'll regret going with a 6 later. You get maximum usage for your investment with 8.

    thanks for every ones ideas. i forgot to say that it is a 75gallon if that changes anything

    That will make it tough to use an 8 bulb fixture. Buy a top of the line 6 bulb like ATI, Tek Elite or Ice Cap and get top of the line bulbs like ATI, Geisemann, UVL, GE and KZ and you will do just fine for any creature you decide to get.
