I too was amazed when I had to pull alomost all the water out in order to put my rock in. Not to mention the sand. I pulled one 5gal bucket of sand and still had lots of sand inside the tank and pulled more than 30 gal of water and still had more to go. I'm glad I didn't fill the tank all the way up to get it started because I knew I need it the extra space for the rock and I still had to ad like 5 more gallons to top it off after I put evything back on it.

I know what you mean about the back drop. One thing about my tank is that is not all about me, is also about my family, my wife and kids have pick what they want to see in the tank but I'm the one in charge of making sure that all will "work" together.

I just took down my 55 and have two CPR HoB overflows that I used for a LONG time! They are coupled with an aqualifter pump to help maintain the siphon and there design help eliminate the risk of snails blocking the tubes like an eShoppe overflow bow. PM me if you are interested!

wow, that blows my mind.... everyday something in the saltwater world amazes me

The kids love saltwater fish. I'm assuming you already have a larger tank with a "Nemo" and "Dori" in it? ;D

This is my very first tank ever. I have to tell you that my oldes pick the chromis, the middle one want a wrasse(have to get him to change his mind) and the youngest want a black and white clown(he does not want the regular nemo) My wife want a dottyback. Me? I'm not that easy to please, LOL!

My ideal fish is the humu picaso but, that means nobody on the family will get want the want. My wife fell in love with a porcupine after she sa it at the store and put her nail on the glass and the puffer was following every move she did with her nail. Was to funny watching the puffer move quickly side to side.

A cowfish huh? have not seen one up closes yet. but for what I see if I can put it on my tank, I'll get it. LOL!

Green/Blue Chromis, Carpenter's Wrasse and Orchid Dottyback would all probably get along great and look good too! I had an orchid dotty for 8 years, my favorite fish of all time. One aggressive thing it ever did was swallow whole a court jester goby.... still perplexed! I think the clown will be the meanest fish.

Is this for a reef tank or aggressive FOWLR tank?
