Yeap, that's exactly what they want. I'm still not sure for me but that's ok because I get to pick all the CUC.

Well, I got some updates about my tank(pics to come)

I've kept the tank the way i was since I last posted pics with the exception that I have one 2x24w t5 from aquaticlife.

I've lost some life stock and gain some.

I decided not to go thru with building my own LED fixture because after some calculation I was going to spend the same amout of money(less time) for a fixture I like a lot.

I am on the other hand having the not so bright idea of building my own sump since my 10g tank is not really suited for it. I have to build one because I do have the luxury and space to place a traditional sump or larger(20g) tank inside my stand.

I'm very limited to the with/height of what goes in there. I was thinking on fabricating an 18x18x13 1/4 sump with compartments for a fuge, skimmer, return, intake and eveything in between. I should be fine since I got free 1/4" acrylic and I wont wast too much since it will be cut with a water jet.

I'll be (most likely) using a deep blue triton 3 return pump for this project and a overflow box rated equally to the pump.

I got a question. How tall you guys/gals think the baffles should be or what will be the minimun amout of water I should have to keep the risk of flodding as low as possible?

For height, it depends on how much water will siphon back from the DT. If you drill the return line near the top of the water in your DT, you may only get a gallon or so. But you want as much water in the sump as you can safely run.

Thank you, I'm making an sketch right now and I'll be making a CAD drawing and perhaps a 3D drawing aswell. Once is done I'll put it up for opinions, critics and such.

make sure the overflow can handle MORE gph then the return pump. You do not want to match them. This can cause problems.

That's a great advise. Thank you!

That mean's if I do get the triton3 from Deep Blue I need at least a 600gph or larger than the pump? The triton3 i rated(if memory doesn't fail me a 587gph at 4ft head....

Go overboard on the overflow :) For reference, I have a 1000 GPH Eshopps overflow with a return pump doing between 500-600 GPH.

ok, overboard with overflow. I'll probably go with 700gph because of space issue but, I'll see if I can get a 1000gph one.

    thank you!
