Hey everyone! I hope i'm posting this in the right section (I'm new bare with me lol) I'm looking to start a reef aquarium. After alot of thought I'm leaning towards a 60 gallon Bowfront glass aquarium. Any thoughts as to good brands to go with? Best bang for your buck? Moderately priced? Acrylic vs. Glass? Ones that come with stand/canopy? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

IMHO ide check the local craigslist. There have been some seriously good deals on tanks latelly with the economy. That is if your on a budget. I would definitely go with glass though. Alot less likely to scratch. And if you want you can go with a DIY stand and built it yourself to save some money. You can also build your own sump if your looking to do that sort of thing.

all glass aquariums are best, get as big of a tank as you can you won't regret it glass is cheaper and less likely to give you any problems

    Hi Callahan

Cuttinggrass - has tried to help you by typing the word Bump

what she means is that by doing that, your post goes back to the top of the list so it gives it a chance of others seeing it and replying to you

so although she could not answer your specific question, she did something which now I have explained it , you realise was in fact a nice thing for her to do

you also would be better off getting a pre drilled so you can have a sump and or refuguim.
if you buy an all glass and it is tempered you won't be able to get it drilled. So your best bet is to buy a reef ready tank so your set up from the beginning. just a thought.

and yes cuttingras was just trying to help by putting your post at the top of the list.

+1. Bumping is a good thing, not a put down. It's something someone that doesn't know the answer will do to unanswered posts to get it front and center on the boards again so it's seen by everyone here ;)

In that case I do apologize. As you can all see I am new to this site and was unaware of what it meant. I had another thread that he commented very briefly on that wasn't very helpful so I thought he was making a pattern of being rude. Now that I know I do apologize Cuttingrass, I was out of line. And thank you all for filling me in so that I know not to jump to conclusions again. I only wanna keep the peace lol.
    Thanks again guys!!
