    the verdict is in lol, in the surge protector I bought was the cause!!!! but no legal action can be taken because in the fine print of the paper work that came with the strip said not to use on aquariums. The fire inspector that actually came to my house today was a fellow aquairust and he him self was shocked at what he seen and my wife said that while he was here he looked into a surge protector for aquirums and found one at Dr foster and smith. I hope that my problem that I had with my tank helps others out and maybe bring attention to fellow aquairust

    Do not rely on a powerstrip. Gfci is the best and safest route ime.
    Corallife strips are terrible ime.
