just how much overkill is 600 gph in a 5 gal aquarium? i have an older model koralia hydor that is 600 gph. my dilemma is my 5 gallon aquarium, that will eventually be housing a mantis, only has the filter on it providing flow so i would like to increase the turnover rate. i havent had the koralia in because im afraid it is just way too much flow in such a tight space, any input?

as long as the powerhead isnt pointing directly at coral i would say your ok thats about 120x turnover rate. idk how that will affect the mantis though
