let me start by saying this is not going to happen overnight and there is alot that has to be done. the marineland deep dimensions are supposed to be 27" tall, this one is 24".

first thing i did was take out the corner overflows and made a 2-axis rotozip jig to cut the 1/4" abs plastic for the c2c overflow. the stock overflows can only handle 700 gph, my c2c will handle 6433 gph not to mention a full skim.

slow train pickin up speed here.

first thing: got rid of the two corner overflows their ugly and with 44 slots they only flow 1430 gph.

made c2c overflow using 1/4' thick abs with 194 slots capable of handling 8809 gph,

drilled two 2" drains on back wall capable of handling 18000 gph, original corners only drained 1200 gph.

doing this i lost 2" of floor space instead of 6" in each corner. a much cleaner look and better surface skimming.

the tank has two dedicated 20 amp circuits, two fresh air lines going into the attic for the 2 protein skimmers and a seperate 2" drain going into the houses plumbing for water changes.

next is to build the fake wall to hide everything.

The two 2" holes are the drains and the 4 other holes will be returns? Are you going to put supports along the back wall to help keep it from caving in? The only other concern I would have is that if one of your returns would ever leak that's the whole tank that will empty. Just my 2 cents.

I believe you can park a truck on the stand. I was referring to the over flow wall. will the pressure of the water buckle it?

unfortunately marineland stopped making custom tanks and now only build them their way. i hate the look of the corner overflows. if silicone and glass were to stop the water from coming out and it fails then the tank is a total tear down. if the bulkhead fitting fails its a simple drain and replace. in this hobby we all run the risk of having a swimming pool in our house.
