    more toward the top of the tank for good gas exchange and across from each other for more chaotic flow example: <.......................>

    I like opposing sides, toward the back 3/4 of the way up and each aimed slightly toward the front. Here is how I used to have mine;

    Hm. I feel like my acrylic 40 gallon bows quite a bit so i keep my powerheads on each side flowing the length of the tank into eachother. Gives a bit of chaotic flow. I dunno if my worry is legitimate though (as in if the powerheads blowing at the front of the tank would make it bow more). But i would say the further away they are from eachother the better, at least for my tank. Pushes more water with less jet stream action.

    I turn off my pumps and PHs when I feed. I can better control the amount that I feed. Very very little if any does not get eaten.

    Unless you are target feeding coral or just feeding coral phyto or something of that nature, I leave them on. The chaotic blowing of food makes the fish act more natural and have to "hunt" down the food which provides exercise for them. Your clean up crew will get any the fish don't find, which will be minimal.
