I recently bought a used 65 gallon tank. It came with a T5 fixture built into the canopy. It holds two coralife bulbs, one 1000K that says 36 watts and one actinic that I am assuming is also 36 watts? I know this is not enough watts to keep corals SO would a higher wattage T5 bulb fit the fixture or do I have to get a whole new fixture? I was also considering just adding some light somehow...any ideas?

The wattage of a bulb is directly related to it's length. All 34" bulbs are 39 watts. To get more watts, you need to add more bulbs. You can get retro kits that you can add in fairly cheap.

Also, not all bulbs are created equal. UVL, Geismann, ATI are all very good bulbs and will actually provide more usable light for the same wattage.
