I wouldn't go that small on the pvc . . . go with 1", or at the very least 3/4".

Well is what your telling me to do is use a 1/2" to 3/4-1" coupler to the output of the little giant? It's got to go up a good 5'. I was thinking that the 1/2" would give less volume to push verticaly thus
better flow. But, let me know if I'm wrong.

    Little giant 4 mdq-sc
    1" inlet
    1/2" outlet
    850gph
    23" max head height

get a 1/2" - 1" coupler and put that coupler as close to the output of the little giant as possible (1/2" FPT - 1" slip would be ideal if the pump outlet takes 1/2" FPT), then run the 1" pipe all the way up. you will get waaaaay better flow over stepping down the pipe diameter.

So I was looking for new lights to buid on.
    Product Details
    Well I found a 54w X8 48" t5 fixture.
My tank is a 55 not 65 as I thought.
    48x18x24

Do you think that this would be too much light
    Or just enough?????!

I have a bta, lots of zoanthids, lots of shrooms, (blue flowerpot) few Lps , fewer sps due to lack of light.
I want a bit of sps mostly rare colored mushrooms and zoa's/ paly's, with one leather and a acan.1

If to much could I just raise the lamp??

Ok I checked an the biggest I can get is a four lamp t5 or a 6 lamp for twice the price.

Will four t5 do the job???

    Those dimensions are for a 90G. I would go atleast a 6-bulb t5ho on a 90.

    I'm sorry I wasn't thinking when I put that it's 48x13x24 making it a 60g.
The tank is to narrow for the good t5 set ups.

I don't want to but I could get away with two 150w mh hQi?
I have one set up on one side of my tank in combination with two t5's and stunners.
And it seems to be a good amount of light to cover both sides liberally if I had two 150w.
    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????

A good 4 bulb fixture (TekLight, ATI) with good bulbs (ATI, Geissemann) will do well on that tank. MH will provide more penetration though.
