My 150 gallon tank cracked last night and allthe water came out. I was so upset. I was wondering if the live sand I had in there can be saved and re-used? Do I have to keep it wet?

if you reuse , when you add new water to whatever tank your gonna go with. you must make sure the sand doesnt get disturbed or it will release huge amounts of nitrates. ive seen someoine recommend covering the sand with saran wrap qnd then adding water so it doesnt disturb the sand andthe saran will float up when ddone. thats just one way ive thought of it.

I would rinse the sand off first just in case, but the saran wrap method works well also...

WOW, Amanda, what a drag......I don't believe it. In the past month I have read too many people having leaks, cracks whatever. I am almost inclined to think maybe a lot of these are related to aquarium stress from an un-level set up. When you set up the replacement make sure it level in all aspects. I don't know if you did that last time but, if you did, this post will benefit others.
