the chamber on the right is actually not there anymore.

there is left over silicone there from a "failed" (too small) chamber
my plan was for the center to be a fuge, but it was too small...
so now the plan is to run extra 10g tank as a fuge. (later tho)

well... got the RO/DI from purewaterclub

ofcourse it leaked out of the box....
the O-ring that sealed the top of the RO tube, was WAY too small to seal.
ran to the hardware store and got a thicker O-ring, and BINGO! We're making water!-------------------------SLOWLY! LOL
I diddnt relize how slow of a process this is
Living in Oregon, our water is so good Ive never bothered with RO/DI in my 30G tank
my new TDS meter shows 48PPM out of the tap
been two hours and ive only made 5G of RO/DI salt water.... will keep you posted

When I first hit this thread my first thoughts were to see your chevelle! LOVE'M! and sweet to drag it too! As I followed I was admiring your carpentry.. I need to get lessons! I have a bow and it is looking choppy! That is a sweet stand, interesting looking sump and SWEET car! I was thinking of doing that same drain method you switched to but I have 3 return pumps for my 72 bow. I was going to use the 3/4 for a return like it was designed for with one pump, use 2 SCWDs flopping 4 returns and drill my 1" drain to a 1.5" for more flow. It's an AGA so I figure punch out that one drain bigger and there wont be pipes every where. It's either that or do the drains and only use 2 pumps to return.

ya it to me allmost 4 full days to make 100g ro/di water with a 75gpd membrain. takes a long time, but i found after 200g run threw it it seems to make more ro/di and less wast water.

    wow! thanks for the complements!
I dont consider myself much of a carpenter
honestly, the carpentry is all about having the right (basic) tools...
a table saw, miter saw, jig saw, circular saw, and most important...a router
once youve got that stuff, its a piece of cake!

sounds like you should just drill the back of your tank for a CLS. IMO..you dont need too much flow running through your sump, gotta leave that water inter there long enough for all the equipment to do its job

if you want to flow for water movement in the tank.....CLS or powerheads is the way to go...IMO

but dont listen to me, I am not a expert on much...(ok, I alsmost am about cars (my profession))

    Noted.. lol

Ooooo... forgot about that! I was looking at a guys article that made a CLS w/o drilling. He just piped it and hung the pump on the back of the tank... I completely forgot! Thank you!

I see that! I will own my Chevelle one day! Thanks for the help and the read from the thread.

I bought a 16ft 3/8 hose and ran it straight to the tank from the RO/DI unit

Put a trash bag in on top of the sand, so as I keep adding salt, the bag keeps it from mixing with the sand, and lets me stir the salt without stirring sand up.
