so its been 7 days since i transfered my 55 to a 90 gallon.

ammonia, nitrite, nitrate are all undectable

fish are all doing great. cleaner and peppermint shrimp are good.
brain, frogspawn, and even the montipora seem to be doing great. (good polyp extension, great color)

so if i was going to have a cycle i imagine ammonia would have shown up by now. what do you guys think???

p.s. do have a pretty bad diatom bloom, but i am assuming thats from new plastics/silicone........ phospates are at 0

You're probably OK. Wouldn't worry to much. I have never followed cycling rules and I've never lost a fish as a result.

sounds good to me, any bacteria lost in the transfer will be quickly compensated for
you may have had a slight spike but unless you tested daily you could miss it, IMO

the new plastics will account for the diatoms IME (I get a mild case on every new power head I put in)

If you've used a lot of the same water and substrate then you're in good condition.

As long as the LR is cured and you still have at least 30% of the water from the 55 gallon before, there shouldn't be a spike.

    cool thanks everyone.

all the rock from the 55 made it into to 90. sand was replaced. i was only able to use about 20 gallons or so from the 55. (main reason i was worried).

i was testing daily, but it was with an expired kit. got a new one today:).
