ok, some of us do have experience in that area.

There is a very big difference. Thats why you see so many people with sump/fuge's. In a fuge you have an area to put more LR, sand, macro's, additional CuC's. All of these things contribute to waste reduction where are a canister is more of a trap for alot of waster. Once trapped, it rot's & creates nitrates. Hence the notrate factory dubbing. While bio-balls to offer an area for beneficial bacteria to grow much like live rock, its not the same. They dont get the same amount of free flow in the confines of a canister. This is before you add in the costs of a paid for once macro/LR/sand in a fuge vs the repeat changes of media & the work & sometimes mess involved.

You could consider some of the larger wrasse. Just rememebr you have to get them big enough so they arent lunch. puffers or triggers might be an option but the nipping potential is there.

The angler can grow up to 6" and anything its size or smaller has the potential to be snacked upon.

Most azure's i've seen sell around 1" - 1 1/2" so they definitely run the snack risk. Narrow bodied fish (like firefish for exmaple) also run a higher risk because although longer can still fit in its mouth.

scorpd/liond & anglers all exhibit the same lying & wait then strike feeding habits. Your still in the same boat as far as fish compatibility. its not a matter of a fish being fast enough to avoid the strike, cause they wont be. If it fits in thier mouth & they want it, then thats the way it will go down. Hit youtube and google some feeding video's and youll see what I mean.
