Hey I am Coopdogyo and I am new to 3reef.com. I have kept fish since for 3 years and I currently have a 55 gallon fresh water aquarium. I reccently set up a 72 gallon bowfront tank. The tank has been set up for 2 monthes but I have yet to put fish in as I am 14 and short on cash my birthday however is this week so I hope bring in some cash and get fish soon. I am however having some new tank problems. I had a pineapple sponge infestation but it has been working itself out. My biggest problem is hair algae it is centered mostly on my overflow where it is tough to get at it. I run phosphate remover and carbon. I am also considering adding a fuge. I also have a small problem with cyano it is mostly centered in 2 areas of the aquarium where the flow is lowest. I am going to add two more powerheads to supplemt my 2 k3's. I am also running a Reef Devil skimmer that I am having trouble getting dialed in. It is producing extremly wet foam that easily overflows the skimmer. Any suggestions will be apprecited on how to solve these problems. Now for the pictures.

Very nice setup! Happy Birthday this week - I hope you get some nice things for your tank. I'm not familiar with that skimmer, but it took awhile to get the water level just right in mine - it was either too much or too little. Have you done a search for that particular skimmer? You can also check the skimmer forum - I'm sure someone will help you out!

Let the tank cycle out. Those are the growing pains of starting up a new aquarium. Are you using tap water? That is a big reason for unwanted algae growth. Also, definitly try to fuge.
If you take the front caps/ cones off the Korillia Power heads you'll get a wider flow which may help you or try pointig one at the surface and one front the back toward the middle of the tank to kind of circulate the water, you'll get flow where you least expect it.
I have never used that type of skimmer but I know if you get an inexpensive one, sometimes you can never dial them in. My Maddog skimmer used to do that. Somedays it would be dry and producin nothing and others it would be over flowing cuz I pinched the valve a hair more... it never dialed in.
