Thanks for all the input everyone. I am planning on getting fish before corals but I just found out my heater in the quarantine tank doesn't work so I have to pick up a new one. As for the skimmer it seems I can get it dialed into the point where it is about 3 or 4 inches away from producing foam then i adjust it just a little more and the thing explodes on me. I am running a mag 7 pump on it which means the flow is pretty high. I bought the skimmer used off of reef central. I am also using RO/DI the TDS going in is 127 and going out is 3 so there isn't a problem there. I think the cause of the algae is that my photoperiod is pretty long and the lighting is also intense with no corals. I have dialed both of those back by cutting it from 8 hours a day to 5 and turning off 4 of the lights. I will post some updated pics soon.

Oh I wanted to add I think the problem with the overflow is it is roughly in the center of the tank not the corner of the tank. This makes it diffcult to distripute flow to the rest of the tank.

If you put a large air stone on one side of the tank, it will slightly disrupt the water currents, perhaps improving the water distribution.
You've got an excellent setup, there. I'm jealous.

As I look through the fourm more and more my cyano problem is starting to look less and less like a cyano problem and more like a dino problem. Here is a rough pic.

Excellent! Take tadpole1Mill's advice about the fuge, though.

Yeah I am planning on it. Do you think I could use a rubbermaid container as a fuge.
