looks like an overall good build. I like the design except for one thing. The plexi in front of the leds should be spaced out further. the lens from the leds concentrates the beam so well to focus the light and it also concentrates the heat emitting from the led light itself. With the lenses so close to the plexi, I would almost assume that the plexi will melt even just a little bit causing distortion which defeats the purpose of having the lenses in the first place.

I hadn't thought of that. I will have to keep an eye on it. If it does create an issue, a couple stand-offs will fix that easily enough.

    Thanks much for the concern.

    hey jonjon,

i just noticed the piece of plexi you have beneath your fan (and above heatsink) should be spaced a bit further from the heatsink(HS).
It looks like with the fan that close, only the channels directly below the fan will have air blown down them, the 2 on each edge (30% of your HS) is not receiving air from the fan.
Try 1/2 or 1" standoffs or something similar, and your HS should remain cooler than it currently is. The plexi will also be cooler due to increased air flow/additional spacing.
I really like how the plexi shield and HS combo looks -without any additonal coverings.
I think im going to go that way for my next build.
    Cheers.
