Ammonia is down to 0, bring on the nitrites

 

Water parameters are all ok so its time for critters when we get back from vacation, or so I thought. I bought and set up a auto top off and had my sister stopping by the house to make sure nothing went wrong while we were away. She did stop in a few times and even sent me pictures of the tank and sump, both looked great. So I walk in today to a gurgling sound from display tank, the tank level is fine but the overflow is basically empty. I checked the sump in the cellar and it is full as well. I have an inlet strainer before the return pump which is clean and all the lines to and from the tank are clear as well. looks like my 3 month old return pump has decided to throw a wrench into my plans. Hopefully the manufacturers warranty that will cover it.
