another thing that I also pondered was weight capacity. Where is the tank going? The difference in weight between 75g to 90g is not all that much but make sure a tank of that capacity will sit level on a strong floor. If you must have a Tang and want to grow it to an adult, you will prob need bigger than a 90g, something to think of. Yes, you can keep Tangs in smaller tanks when juveniles, but they grow fast and will get cramped quick in anything under 100g as they grow to adults.

Sure I have room, if I want to get divorced......the wife gave me the go ahead to upgrade from my 29G BoiCube to a 75, then I talked her into the 90 because its the same length. 100G would be pushing it, not to mention the additional cost, I'm thinking hard about the 75.

I was going for a 75, but came across a 90 for really cheap. It's a bowfront, which I'm not entirely fond of, but the price was amazing. My stand has a square base added to it and makes it taller. It's already tall as is, but it looks amazing. I am 6 feet tall and I can stand without bending over and admire my tank. I do have to use a step ladder to work on the bottom. I have close to 90 lbs. of rock, and there is still tons of open water space for fish.

All in all, I am happier with the "show tank" appearence. And I have more options for livestock. which is always good.

Get the 90! Like someone said already, if you get the 75, you will think to yourself at one point. "I shoulda got the 90"....

I have a 90 and feel the same way, I wish I had the 75 for that exact reason

I'm planning on changing my unbuilt tank from 75 to 90.
i like the idea of the space up top for sps to grow and to make up for the swimming room lost to rocks below.
also my stand is huuuuge (~39" tall i think) so when i test fit an 18" high tank it looked a little ridiculous lol.

I started with a 90, after about 9 months I started putting together everything needed to upgrade it to a 180 which is the same hight but 2 ft longer and 6 inched deeper front to back than the 90.

All I can say is Go as Big as you can Afford to start with so maybe you wont feel the urge to upgrade as soon as you get over the initial cycle. :jester:

I started with a 55g, then soon went to 75g. After a few years, I went to a 120g. Now I've just purchased a 225g. It's a sickness but so worth it all

I'd go with the 90 I just like the height to length ratio and the bit of added water to hold more fish or just for the extra oxygen capacity and swimming room for the fish.
I'm only 5' and don't mind both of my 24" tall tanks, though if I need to reach the sand I'm wet up to my shoulder.
    You could think about a 4' long 120gal tank...4' x 2' x 2' then you could get a tang or 2 :D

I guess I need to stop at my LFS and look at the 75 and 90 side by side, maybe that will help me make the decision.
