    Thanks Sandy :p

Cleaned up the electrical tonight, and added an mp10. I love this thing! Now I'm looking for an mp40 haha. Got the power strips all mounted and looking clean. Going through a little cycle after adding some live rock

I am having an issue with my drown however. It seems that every minute or so I get a loud flush from the sump. Kinda like its backing up at the drain. The drain goes into the water and I've been told by my local store that it needs to be above the water flowing in. This just sounded extremely noisy to me. Any ideas? It's a 1" drain with about 500gph return pump through 3/4".

Are you using a durso pipe in the overflow area?

do you have a tube with air restrictor on it or just a hole in top durso pipe?

If no air restrictor that may be worth a thought.

I can however see why the LFS says it would be best if not in sump water. I believe by having it in the water it traps more air within the pipe which somehow ends up creating the flushing sound. The bubbles are created as the water flows down and into the sump and is not flushed out. So if you do not have the pipe in the sump water itself that air is completely escaping. Sounds good to me but could totally be wrong.

So either air restrictor or cutting the pipe(or making it shorter if you did not glue) are my 2 suggestions.

Only issue cutting the pipe creates is more splashing noise but would think the filter sock would help

Ha ha will take no offense to someone telling me I am totally wrong about the pipe in the water theory!

Thanks for the information Chris. I think it may have been a power head that was pushing excess water into the overflow box. As seems well right now.

Thanks OFK! I like things nice and tidy haha

New addition. Fighting conch to keep the sand bed and pretty and stuff

I was too worried about the old scape falling and always wanted to try two separate scapes like so..... Still not sure about it

Spectrapure rodi should be here any day now. Huge thanks to AZ for the help! Tank seems to be done with the cycle after adding some live rock. All perameters are right in line as of this morning :D

I'm still working with these Aqua Mars LED's. The few corals that I have seemed to be very picky about what days they wanted to swell up and be beautiful or look half dead. I've recently had the lights on at roughly 20% and they have been happy for 6 days now. I think I may have had them too high too soon. Still loving these lights, but I do miss my old halide/cf combo from my last tank

The Leds will grow on you just go slow with intensity. At the high of the day cycle mine are only 60% 20%.

So any more oveflow noise or convinced it was the pump?

    Looking good
