Does this sound like a good list of fish for a 75 gallon?

    1 yellow tang
    2 ocellaris clownfish
    1 purple dottyback
    1 dartfish
    3 blue/green chromis
    1 yellow clown goby

Sorry I wasn't clear there is an octopus recirculating skimmer rated for 125 gallons and a 30 gallon sump, I won't be using my current skimmer.

I personally would not have 2 tangs in a 75g, and would you consider a Royal Gramma, instead of more chromis? JMO good luck, dont see any problem with placment order,

That's a lot of fish for a 75. If you do it that prizm protein skimmer won't handle that load you should consider upgrading big time if you want to try it

I'd lose the second tang and either the clowns or the chromis. Even with that i'd still upgrade your skimmer.

My LFS swears by adding a fluidized bed filter if you have/want a little more stock in your tank then a standard filtration system might handle. Just an FYI on that. Might be worth researching as well.

I would personally lose the yellow tang and the dottyback from that list. Ctenochaetus tangs are the only tangs suitable for a 75 IMO.
Dottybacks are known to be aggressive even though I've heard a couple reports of the purple ones (I would check the scientific name since "purple" can be applied to more than one dottyback) being less aggressive than others. I wouldn't risk it, plus I think you're a little on heavily stocked side.

As for stocking order I would get the dartfish and the goby in there first they will be the most timid probably and will do better getting established in the tank first for a few weeks. Make sure the dartfish especially is comfortable coming out and swimming around constantly and doesn't hide the second you come near otherwise it could make feeding difficult.
After that the chromis or clowns then finally the tang.

try to grow some macro algae Caulerpa in that sump with the new skimmer change the water 5 gal weekly and I will assure you may stock up to 2 cardinal fish, 1 purple tang, 1 blue tang,1 flame angel, 1 clown tang, 1 christmas wrasse, 1 clarki clown, and 1 striped damsel and acropora, montipora and a whole heck of a lot of other corals and keep your nitrates untraceable.

2 of those tangs can grow to be at least 1/4 of the tank length. You might be able to stock this way for a short time (in terms of the overall lifespan of the fish). Clown tangs are notorious for being aggressive when they get bigger. Good luck.
