It's wet, finally. No lights or any equipment other than the return pump and a heater/temp probe on the AC3 are actually running though. No ammonia on the test kit showing yet, this will be my first real cycle, my first tank all my rock was well established and I never saw anything happen on the tests.

Here are some crappy pics I took quick last night, bit cloudy from salt/sand dust, it's all cleared up now though.

Thanks, I'm just realizing how badly I need to get a background on the tank, I hate seeing the plumbing back there. :)

Here's the 1 week wet update.

More of a full room shot, with flash and without. I posted both because I think it's interesting the color of the tank/glass in the flash shot, it's sooooo green. Ignore all the junk/wires hanging around, it's still very much a work in progress.

    Flash

No Flash (the room is poorly lit right now, just one lamp on the left and some light from one window on the right)

In the pictures above you can probably see the salifert ammonia kit I'm using. I still have no noticed a significant color change away from 0.0000000 after a week.
I'm wondering if maybe the overall water volume is so much greater than the amount of ammonia being produced by the decomposing food and any junk in the rocks.
It is 100% dry rock and I put some food pellets in the frag tank to generate some ammonia. I thought I would see something on the kit by now. I've thrown in a few vials of Prodibio's Biodigest bacteria over the course of the week just for the heck of it to see what happens and maybe kick off a little diversity in the bacteria in the system.

Oh well, waiting waiting waiting, I need to start getting the rest of the equipment setup, I'm still only running the heater and the return pump on the AC3 for now.

This system looks so nice, I really like ledge that you have your test kits on. Makes it look really cool.

If I was cycling this setup I would have thrown in 3 frozen shrimp for a few days till the ammonia spiked

Cant wait to see it full:)

Thanks, I'm glad I went with the ledges too, it's really convenient. I may change my mind after I have to keep them clean for a few months though. :)

I am considering adding something more meaty to add to the ammonia load though, thanks for the comments.
